Alana C. Nichols, Esq.

Alana C. Nichols is a Managing Partner at Nichols & Safikovs, LLC.  Her practice areas include personal injury, family law and real estate.  She has represented clients in a wide array of categories from custody issues to protecting clients' interests in slip and fall matters.

Born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana, Ms. Nichols has been instilled with a passion for community service. During law school, Ms. Nichols dedicated over 500 hours to pro bono work.

Ms. Nichols earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. and graduated from Georgia State University College of Law in May 2009.  While attending law school, she served as Vice Chair of the National Black Law Students Association-Southern Region and as Vice President of Research, Writing, and Advocacy on Moot Court.

Ms. Nichols was a 2008 Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys' Foundation Scholarship recipient, as well as a 2008 Leadership Institute McGuire Woods Scholar and a 2009 Georgia Association of Women Lawyers
Foundation Scholarship recipient.

Currently, Ms. Nichols remains active in her community.  She serves on the Board of Governors for Imagine International Academy of Mableton.  She is also Co-Chair of the Commerce Club's Commerce Society Steering Committee and serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.  Ms. Nichols is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Maiya J. Safikovs, Esq.

Attorney Maiya J. Safikovs is a Managing Partner at Nichols & Safikovs, LLC.  Mrs. Safikovs attended the University of Georgia where she studied Journalism and Political Science.  Mrs. Safikovs also holds a master's degree in Land Use Planning from Georgia State University.  In 2007, Mrs. Safikovs obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from University of Georgia, School of Law.  While attending law school, Mrs. Safikovs participated in a plethora of legal activities including moot court and mock trial competitions, the Southern Region Black Law Student Association Law Journal, and the University of Georgia School of Law's Land Use and Prosecutorial Clinics.

Mrs. Safikovs specializes in criminal defense and real estate law. Upon graduating from law school, Mrs. Safikovs was employed at prestigious land use development firm, where she assisted clients with rezoning issues, land use development, and community participation plans. Mrs. Safikovs also has extensive experience in the area of criminal defense. She worked for a year in the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney's Office under Georgia's Third Year Practice Act.  Later, she was employed with a reputable criminal defense firm, where she successfully managed a case load of over 100 cases. Mrs. Safikovs quickly developed a reputation for aggressively and compassionately representing clients.

She has continued her practice of criminal law, and has successfully litigated numerous cases, including both jury and bench trials.  Mrs. Safikovs couples her prosecutorial and defense experience to negotiate favorable outcomes for all of her clients. Mrs. Safikovs is a member of the Georgia Bar, the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer's Foundation, the Gwinnett County Bar Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also volunteers as legal counsel for the Camden County Domestic Violence Shelter.
